Stanford Medicine needed a set of illustrations to support the launch of its San Ramon and Tri-Valley hospitals, alongside a heart health awareness campaign. The creative objective was to develop visuals that felt inclusive, human, and approachable — mirroring Stanford’s mission to provide care that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.

The illustration system was built with adaptability in mind. From billboards to patient handouts to social content, each visual held a consistent tone: warm, respectful, and clear. Every character was intentionally designed to show diversity in body type, gender, and ethnicity, grounding the work in real healthcare experiences and making the messaging more accessible.

By collaborating closely with Stanford’s creative team, the final assets successfully bridged the gap between clinical information and emotional connection. The result was a cohesive, scalable design system that reinforced trust while promoting health literacy across multiple touchpoints in the Bay Area.
